Feb 01, 2009·Got a Echo CS 620 (or what ever the exact model # is) and it is not enought for a 30" bar in hard, old oak or pecan. The big Echo CS-8000 would probably do it, but wanted something to also use in a chainsaw mill. So got the Stihl MS660 with a 32" bar. It does the job real good. I really like it. Also got a 24" bar for limbing trees and small stuff.

That means that a 20 inch bar will always cut all the way through on an 18 inch log or tree without getting you in trouble with things like kickback caused by the tip being buried.
