I dont know the thin kerf is needed but works for me. High price blades do cut nicer, and are able to be sharpened.

It lets me do stupid things I would never dare do with a table saw. It's safer, but as with all jigsaws, blade deflection is a thing - nothing specific to the bladerunner. Just go slow and it cuts good enough for general construction. One thing to note is that Bosch blades are narrower than the splitter/guide.
